Anything from their early, grungy metal to their present upbeat / uplifting rock. They have contributed to Rock music things that other bands can only dreaming of. By writing their own lyrics and music, only doing live performences and playing their own instruments they put teeniebopper favourite's "S Club 7" in their place.
Having added numerous awards worldwide including "Greatest Heavy Metal Band Album of 1997" for their debut full album "Polythene."
Named the best Live band around, they overwhelm onlookers at festivals and concerts worldwide including in Japan, U.S.A, Germany, Italk, France, Spain and of course, The U.K.
No matter what mood, circumstance or emotional condition you're in, there's always a Feeder song to suit your situation. From the uplifting catchiness of Top 5 hit "Buck Rogers" to the moving and inspirational "Yesterday Went Too Soon."
Whether you like Rock, Pop, Metal, Indie, or Nu Metal, Feeder has a place in their Kingdom for you, and your dinner table is waiting for you to be uplifted by the bands amazing musical talent.
To summarise... God Save Feeder.

Yesterday Went Too Soon is their greatest, so get that to get used to their better tunes. I don't actually own "Polythene" and plan on getting it within the next week. If you want to get some of their older, heavier stuff, then try "Swim Resurfaced" (The one with the red cover, not blue) as it has 11 tracks and two videos of their original, heavy rock. Great album.
Firstly, no, I do not work for Feeder in any way. The closest I've been to them is at a record signing and a concert, but I can always hope...
Now, onto your first comment about Feeder, and I quote, "...are hardly an incandescent experience live." Have you ever been to one of their gigs in the last three years? OK, so maybe you've heard them live on an MP3 or maybe a CD, so have I, that is absolutely NOTHING in comparison. Feeder ARE amazing live. OK, they're not everyone's cup of tea, as not everyone is into "uplifting-rock," but I am and have yet to here anyone else better. And I will finalise this at the end of the year when I see Blink 182 and U2 in concerts. I will name an award that may be nearer around 90% credible, and that is U2 with their "outstanding contribution to music" award at the brits this year. 20 years of good music deserves that award.
Secondly, Feeder's ALBUMS peaked a while ago. Undoubtedly, Yesterday Went Too Soon was, and still is Feeder's best album. Maybe you personally don't like their more recent showings but Feeder fans do, on Feederweb, Echo Park was named their best album and it got to Number 5 in the charts, Feeder's highest album rating. Feeder DO, and I cannot put enough emphasis on DO, put S Club 7 in their place. I absolutely HATE when everybody keeps saying "Buck Rogers has meaningless lyrics." OK, so they're not the most advance and versatile lyrics in history, but they DO have meaning. Grant has said on ENDLESS webchats and interviews the meaning and story behind Buck Rogers and has also stated that he is sick to death of explaining it! I'm sorry, but Buck Rogers was an excellent come back song, and if Feeder hadn't ever had long hair and heavy metal songs when they first appeared (which I have nothing against but the British public did) and Buck Rogers was their debut single, then I have no doubt whatsoever in my mind that they would have gotten to Number 1.
Thirdly, Feeder have amazing lyrics. If you have Yesterday Went Too Soon, which I'm guessing you have seeing as you know the names of the tracks and comment on them, then listen to "Hole In My Head." I can SO relate to the subject of the song. The last few months / year of my life has so been EXACTLY the same as this song. How about "Can't Dance To Disco," another VERY funny song with good lyrics that people can RELATE TO, am I making a little bit of a pattern here? Rock followers like songs that they can RELATE TO. OK, so maybe you don't want a song you can relate to, fine how about "Day In Day Out," or "Just A Day?" Brilliant songs with astounding lyrics. How about "Shade?" Great lyrics to a tune that is very hard to make lyrics for. I'll finish on the notes of lyrics for "World Asleep," "Yesterday Went Too Soon," "Sweet 16," "Swim," and "We Can't Rewind."
Finally, Feeder DON'T try to be American. Feeder were Very successful with their track "High" in American. Acclaimed famous over American radio stations. Also they completed a 125-date tour in America in 1998, complete with plenty of 25,000+ capacity stadiums (not bad seeing as they only released song over there). As for Grant's accent, have you ever heard him speak? Does he sound Welsh to you? Does he sound American to you? NO! He sounds ENGLISH! So he's NOT an English bloke trying to be American, he's a Welsh bloke trying to be ENGLISH! Which isn't bad seeing as Ash are constantly trying to make us forget the fact that they're Irish!
How many other bands do you know that their DRUMMER (A guy who's got to to use his foot for the pedals on his drumb-kit) continues in a tour with a broken ankle? How many other bands do you know that their lead SINGER (A guy who has to move his mouth for over two hours non-stop for 125 days) Continues the 125 date tour with a BROKEN CHEEKBONE?!?
In conclusion, Feeder are simply a class band, and I've said a million times before, EVERYONE will like ONE of their songs. There's a song for everyone. I personally like them all, but a friend of mine, who is a Garage and R&B fan and detests all kinds of rock, absolutely loves "Insomnia." My cousin, a heavy metal fan who hates pop and light rock, loves "Seven Days In The Sun." Feeder DO deserve a lot of success. They don't claim to want much (listen to turn, it's about how they feel about their career, e.g. "Because I don't wanna be a hero, but I don't wanna be a zero"), but they deserve it.
I'm going to get straight to the point, I am not Feeder's biggest fan. However, I do like some of the band's songs. I'm not going to say Feeder are bad, Radiohead are good. yet I do think your praise for Feeder was a little too effusive.
Firstly, Feeder are hardly an incandescent experience live. They may win awards but many many awards are completely meaningless. I would challenge anyone to name a musical award with 100% credibility.
Secondly, Feeder peaked a while ago, 'Yesterday Went Too Soon' was a good album in places, particularly the title track and Paper Faces. Unfortunately I cannot admit to liking their more recent showings. You say they really put S-club 7 in their place, well at least those s-club boys and girls have never sung lyrics as banal as 'Buy a house in Devo / Drink cider from a lemon'. I'm sorry but Buck Rogers was awful. A truly meaningless song. You cannot cite Feeder as an antidote to pop when they write a song which is just a hook. In case I'm not making sense a hook is that bit in a song that grabs you and that you fast forward to after you've listened to the song a few times. Buck Rogers is a catchy guitar riff with lyrics crowbar-ed in.
Thirdly, on the lyrical front Feeder will never win any awards. Grant Nicholas has a penchant for continually repeating the same phrase in different songs. Listen to the Swim EP and, as NME pointed out, listen to how many times Grant tells us something along the lines of 'I want to be free'. It might seem like a mundane complaint but Feeder would be a much better band if they had someone like Richey Manic writing the lyrics (even though he's god knows where).
Finally they display one of the most annoying knacks of wannabe-successful-in-America-bands..... they try to be American. If you look at all the British bands/artists that have made it in America - Coldplay, Radiohead, Craig David, and even Charlotte Church - they all sell the fact that they are quintessentially English. That's what the Americans buy into. Despite this glaring fact there are some bands who persist in trying to be American simply to break into that market. Please don't tell me you've never heard Grant's American accent.
In conclusion, Feeder are a good band, but i'm afraid they just aren't as good as you've made them out to be.
8.99! I don't believe it it's well cheap compared to where I live! I might pick up another of there albums while im there too, any suggestions?

Ah, that's nice.
Re: to Rawisandy:
Wow! £15.49! Expensive! Still, if that's the only way you can get it then it's worth it! My Fave tracks are the three you mentioned ("Buck Rogers," "Seven Days In The Sun" and "We Can't Rewind") and "Tell All Your Friends." I'm glad you like it! I just recently got "Swim Resurfaced," which is a re-release of their original mini-album but with extra tracks & videos. It's amazing! Grant (Lead singer & guitarist) get's his voice VERY high at a couple of points. A rather heavy album for Feeder and it's stunning that a lot of ther tracks on it, for eg. Stereo World, didn't even enter the Top 40!
Still, if you wanna get a good album, Swim Resurfaced is worth a look. But Yesterday Went Too Soon is still their best!
All I need to complete my Feeder collection now is Polythene...
> Shut up Longy! (lol) You know nothin 'bout feeder! ya think ya do
