Hear hear! :)

I personally agree with what you said. Grand Theft Auto games are getting prettier as the series continues, and if there's one word I overuse when describing GTA 3, it's "gritty". Because that was the best thing about it - it was down to earth and... professional. When I think of Vice City, I think of pink. It was like you were on drugs.

I think it'd be great if San Andreas went back to this shady underworld idea of gangsters. The "invisible hand" than manipulates but nobody knows is there. People that are above the police, powerful, cool... not people that chase dogs on rollerblades. To get information, for example, you should have to make a deal with a suspicious person called Benny "books" Malone, who wears a long coat and a hat, and has narrow eyes, and will only meet with people at a deserted news stand at an underground railway station at midnight...

Exactly. San Andreas shouldn't try to be anything other than it is - a free-roaming crime/action/gangster game.

Personally, I'd like to see a bit more freedom with regards to the story. Though this may seem slight hypocritical to what I've just said above, I think it'd be good if there was more of an RPG slant. I want more side-quests (the mysterious phone missions in GTA 3 were a lot of fun) and more depth and interest to characters who aren't in the main game, like the ex-soldier who was in the army barracks in GTA 3, for example.

As you say - a much more interactive and believable world.

EDIT: I like it on GTA 3 when you go into a Gangs territory and they start shooting at you, i dont think they do that on Vice City.

What?

Vice City hit the nail on the head with everything gangster like, granted I didn't enjoy it as much as GTA3 but what you just said is bull sheet.

Jesus, GTA is about stealing cars, commiting crimes and trying to establish yourself as Gangster No1, not about prancing around on bikes or skateboards. I've got a feeling the GTA franchise reached it's peak with GTA3.

Vice City wasn't as good because they tried to make it too complicated, and too exotic. Being a gangster isn't supposed to be pretty. If some of those things make it into the game, then I don't hold much hope for it.
