After 3 years of shopping two scripts around that I wrote to everyone in this country, meeting producers, applying for funding etc etc and blah blah blah, I have secured myself an agent in Hollywood.
COME ON!!!!
An agent in Beverley Hills that has agreed to represent me and present my scripts, along with any future developments and treatments I come up with.
He takes a percentage, but with an agent touting for you, you get taken more seriously than a lone writer.
And part of my contract is that I register with the Screen Writers Guild of America.
So, I am now Goatboy SGA
I have letters after my name, an agent and two completed scripts.
Life is good, and my band is playing a showcase gig this thursday.
I rule.
It's not heavy, it's not pop crap.
I dont know how to describe us.
Some have said Blurish, some say Oasisy, one record company reckons we sound too much like Ocean Colour Scene ??
Fair enough, each to their own.
But, I am genuinely chuffed you guys like it.
We've got some pretty serious interest in us, and we're playing this week in London at a venue we sold out last time.
Got 5-6 record companies coming to see us and I'm nervous/excited as hell.
ROCK AND ROLL!!!!!!
Oh, and writing.
Christ I love music.
*S*
Nice chorus... singer sounds like a mixture of Supergrass singer and a touch of Liam Galacher... in my opion :D
That picture for 'Holy Cow' is excellent :D
ITS A COW!
Love the start of Mrs Jones :D
I listened to Mrs Jones... nice and catchy.
So you hit things eh? :D
IF any of your singles hit the shops in East Kilbride I promice I'll buy it :)
Parker rock.
I'm not a professional music critic, so I'm not going to give a professional resume.
My favourite track is Mrs Jones (I think thats the one availabe for download, but I'm not sure). It's just one of those tracks you can hum along to. The chorus gets into your head and stays there all day. In a good way.
It's not heavy like Nirvana or whatever, it's not poncy like David Gray, it's just good.
I can't really describe it, just download it and have a listen.
> Ah, sorry mate, you put this before in another thread didn't
> you?
Sorry for not replying.
Er, not sure how to do get that

However, seeing as you

Go to Alternative, Steve Lamacq,
> Session Unsigned and scroll down to March. Look for Parker "The
> Holy Cow", there's one track available for download.
Thanks Goaty! I'll get it now!
> Whats your script about?
hehe "Billy and The Cloneasaurus" I like that.
Mine?
Well...the one that got me noticed is a nasty little road movie.
Imagine The Hitcher with The Vanishing and some Hills Have Eyes thrown in.
Lovely.
Another is a horror script, another is called "Generic Crime Flick". Honest, that's the title.
Has every cliche in you've ever seen before.
hur-hur-hur
I dont really know, too close to it.
Your Honour...give us your honest opinion on us:
Is it about a futuristic amusement park where dinosaurs are brought to life through advanced cloning techniques.
You could call it "Billy and the Cloneasaurus."
???
:)
