Are you getting fed up about the possibility of ANOTHER X-Factor Christmas No.1? ...us too...so we're going to do something about it!

We are all buying a download of 'KILLING IN THE NAME' by RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE right NOW! until the end of Saturday 19th December (23:59pm).

THIS IS NOT A CLEVER ADVERTISING PLOY, LOOK UP RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE ON WIKIPEDIA, THEY ARE DEFINATLEY NOT SOME LARGE CORPORATE PUPPET THEY SUPPORT MANY GOOD CAUSES AS DOES THE FACEBOOK GROUP PUSHING THIS

LET'S GET RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE TO THE CHRISTMAS NO.1 SPOT THEN!

We cannot mass message all members. Facebook disable that option on large groups!

Q: So how do we do this then?
A: Take your pick(s) of the digital providers below. It should take you to the page where you can purchase your copy of KILLING IN THE NAME. in most cases it's track#2 but check before you click!

Q: Why have you used shortened links?
A: It gives us a ROUGH idea of how we are doing on sales. I can get a click count this way

Q: But there's other websites now offering RAGE for Xmas links?
A: Yes, but these links right here were created by the creators of the whole campaign themselves. They are not 'affiliate' links so therefore nobody gets any sort of 'commision'. You don't need to go anywhere else.

Q: When do i buy 'Killing In The Name'?
A: NOW until Saturday 19th December at 23:59pm

Q: Can I buy loads of downloads?
A: In a nutshell no. If the Chart company see unusual selling patterns they can ignore the bulk purchases or worse still remove the track completely. As admin I cannot be seen to encourage this

** DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT 10 TIMES OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT...IT'LL JUST GET ANNULLED FROM THE CHART **

Pretty much what I was saying. The bible states that there were sheperds in the fields during the birth, which only occured during spring-autumn. And the fact that Mary made a 70 mile journey whilst pregnant in the dead of Winter? More likely it was Sping or Autumn.

That's the largest part. Still won't go into the story of Jesus and it's flaws. Too many, if you looked at it there is not one part of the story that is really "true" :S

As true as religion can be if you don't believe etc etc

As far as I remember, the 'birth of the Christ child' was supposed to have been in February - but due to a change of 'calendar' in the 17th/18th century due to a change of Pope at the time, the Gregorian Calendar which we now use, is some 2 months out:-)

As for this country being a 'Christian' country - the 'church' has always used 'old and ancient rituals' as centre points of celebration, because the general 'pagan' populus of the time had always had a bit of a shindig at that time, so they decided to cash in and call it by another name - cynical but true - the 'church' has always been cashing in on someone else's 'good time'.

And, has the 'church' any other great claim to fame? War is a great one, both sides always claim to be doing it in the name of God - always makes me laugh that one :-)

We are a Christian country (albeit the goverment seem to have forgotten) so it's a Christmas song. It's not worldwide Christmas No. 1, it's Uk so....

Either way as pb I believe said it's not purely a Christian holiday. It was being celebrated before the birth of Christ. Infact the bible suggest itself that Christ wasn't even born on December 25th, that was when the church decided to celebrate the birth as it was already a popular holiday in that time.

And there you go ;)

Don't bother Chris ... it isn't worth the 'hassle' ... Christmas is Christmas and that is that.

I don't suppose that you ever took part in a Christmas celebration during your 17 years of life - strange how the older you get the more 'selective' or is it the more 'intelligent' you get - I forget...

'Shouldn't' being to word to pick up on.

Christmas is part Christian part Pagan festival in origin after all and people have taken the 'tradition' rather than the religion to heart.

Though I myself am Catholic and celebrate Christmas in that way, plenty of people like to celebrate the season by giving presents and being nice, smiling more and being with family. Ok, it doesn't always work out that way but surely one time of the year when you're reminded of this is better than none.

And there hangs my argument for a Christmas song. Most of them give you a smile on your face and a warm feeling and THAT is the most important part of Christmas at ground level, even part of the 'Christian' meaning too.

Actually, strange point to make here, but lets open it for debate :) I know most people don't truly celebrate the real reason for christmas (ie. The birth of Christ) i don't myself, but what about non-christians. If they don't believe in Christ, and therefore shouldn't celebrate Christmas, how come it's called a 'Christmas No. 1'?

For example, the Islamic equivalent would be something like an Umrah No.1, so, should it really be referred to as a Christmas No.1? We're talking about mainstream music here, so why is it named after a christian holiday? I suppose some people could even be offended by it (if you're really being picky). You don't need to tell me how stupid a point this is, but discuss! :D
