"Disgaea: Hour of Darkness"

I noticed that a lot of people have been talking about this game recently and I thought that it would be good to have your opinions of it. Lalakersrule says that he has clocked up 800 hours on it so either it is very very addictive or Lalakersrule is extremely sad. ;-) Anyway, I was looking through the latest issue of Official Playstation Two Magazine and I saw a preview of it and to my horror it only had a quarter of a page when GTA: San Andreas had six pages on it! So I looked down and saw why. 2D graphics!!! I know that it has sold millions in Japan and other countries but I never thought that it would have Two-dimesional graphics. I am not saying that graphics are the most important part of a game but I expected a game that had sold so well to have at least half-decent graphics for god's sake. But I still think that after so many good reviews there is quite a large chance of me buying it when it comes out over here.

So what do you guys think of it? I don't want people saying stuff like 'oh yeah, it sounds good'. I want people who have imported it to give me a first-hand review and help me out.

I have completed this game, then i sold it. I do this with most of my games though :D, complete them, save it on memory cards and then sell them for more and so the cycle continues. This game is stunning, quite regreting selling this now but i'll get it back. What bit are you at now then Lou?

I got this today but I haven't had the chance to play it yet. So how far is everyone into the game now?

Ah yes getting out of the boredom zone that is European releases, get to experience some of the great games that for some reason didn't get a release over here and also see just how average FFX is when compared to the other RPG's.

This game is turning out to be wait for it....

Above FF7 standards! And thats saying alot for me.
I suggest anybody with money should get this. Another game i played before i sold it was Suikoden, this turned out to be one of my favourites aswell. I completed it and sold it after the topic from Lalakersrule (special mention ) for 80 quid and bought it for a fiver :D
That turned out to be a good game aswell.

Doubt disgaea will go platinum the masses are too stupid for that. Like i said in the other topic, wait a few weeks and there'll be copies of it in the pre-owned section returned by dimwits who can't get their little brains round the complexities of a strategy RPG and instead go back to their mindless hack and slash games and Euro 2004's
