I noticed that a lot of people have been talking about this game recently and I thought that it would be good to have your opinions of it. Lalakersrule says that he has clocked up 800 hours on it so either it is very very addictive or Lalakersrule is extremely sad. ;-) Anyway, I was looking through the latest issue of Official Playstation Two Magazine and I saw a preview of it and to my horror it only had a quarter of a page when GTA: San Andreas had six pages on it! So I looked down and saw why. 2D graphics!!! I know that it has sold millions in Japan and other countries but I never thought that it would have Two-dimesional graphics. I am not saying that graphics are the most important part of a game but I expected a game that had sold so well to have at least half-decent graphics for god's sake. But I still think that after so many good reviews there is quite a large chance of me buying it when it comes out over here.

So what do you guys think of it? I don't want people saying stuff like 'oh yeah, it sounds good'. I want people who have imported it to give me a first-hand review and help me out.

Thanks in advance,

Wakka.

Heh people had same problem over in North America with too few copies being made until the re-release. Blame the public who put crap like Fifa at the top of the charts but good games like this never get a sniff of the top 10.

Well there is a stop it'd just take you a good few hundred hours to get there and when you think you can have 10 characters on a map trying to get them all to 180,000 will take ages (not that you need to anyway but it is always fun to rinse a game :-D)

Also just levelling up items itself will take ages if you want to clear every single level of enemies. For normal items you have 30 floors to clear, rare items 70 floors to clear and legendary items 100 floors to clear. Not to mention powering up your items with the residents such as Gladiators (capped at 19998) Statiticians (capped at 300) and Managers (not sure on them)

Tis truely a game for the power levellers

Quite easy, and if you like levelling well so far the known cap for the characters is level 180,000. Have fun with that :-D

Also when you get far and strong enough you can ask the Dark Assembly to open up a map which has quite a tasty map for levelling with 9 characters that give you the most experience and they're sitting on Exp 50%+ squares

Buying it in an hour or so.

Have 7 weeks to play it.

With one hand. I broke my wrist...

But yeah... Is it hard or easy if you level up? I'm a Pokemon master! Roar!

Time for sleep.

Yea to get the most out of the game you really do have to put in alot of time on it so you can defeat the extra bosses and get the extra classes. Tis worth it though, awesome game and if you ever needed a reason to own a PS2 then this is it. Course like you said if you don't have that much time to play games then Disgaea isn't for you

As much as I appreciate this game, I had to sell it. It's just far too involving and the hours you have to put in, jeez.

Will do - it's going fine at the moment.
Just levelling everyone up for a bit.

The battles are fantastic - you can see how strategy there will be later on, with 10 people on the field and with loads more moves. Although the level there is now is pretty impressive.

Does anyone else's PS2 sound like it's being tortured when playing this game? Mine creaks and groans so much, it sounds like it's dying.
