Blokes need time with blokes and video games.
But our better halves don't understand this and think it's a slight on them.
It's not.
I spend most weeekends at my girlfriend's place until sunday/monday morning.
But times are that I fancy being at mine with mates and computer entertainment.
How do you say this though, without them getting moody and punishing you for a week with the most effective method?
This weekend, for example, I've arranged to go there from work tonight and I'll be there till Sunday.
Now, GT3 is out, Train Simulator is out, my mates are playing Operation Flashpoint online, I'm getting quite far into Black and White.
I'm not suggesting for one moment that games are a substitute for a soft, nice smelling companion - just there are times when, although you've made plans for the weekend, you suddenly think "Damn, I want to play computer games".
Being 28, some might say "Too immature", I'm not.
Well...I am, but that's not the point.
So, weekend doing adult things with my girlfriend, or weekend being a kid - but not doing adult things with my gf.
Damn.
I want both
Saturday:
Get up (time unspecified)
Let the cat in
Feed the cat
Play games
Feed the cat
Play games
Put the cat out
Play games
Go to sleep
Sunday:
See above
Now you might think that us hardcore gamers have an easy life, but that's a fallacy, especially when you have a cat.
At least I'll be driving, so I can pretend I am

Lol!
I'll look out for a news report tomorrow.
"Man escapes car wreck.
A man by the name of slaveunit remarkably escaped injury when he crashed his fiesta at 100mph. On a corner.
When asked what he was doing he replied, "I could do this in GT3, honest...."

Er...umm...curse the language filter...
At least I'll be driving, so I can pretend I am playing games...
(though the last time I tool a corner ridge racer style I took the tread off my tyres...)

I hear Tomb Raider is pretty good...
;-p
But I think I can get over it.
Somehow.
I think saturday, if I have anymoney left, I'll just go down the pub. A couple of my mates who I haven't seen for ages are supposed to be back so it will be good to catch up with them.
Finish work at 5, wait till 6:30 before driving to gf (North Circular is a pain until after rush hour)
Go watch a film (no idea what yet), come back, have a nice bath and then bed.
Sat is tearing around doing things for her place being renovated, back to mine Saturday night for gaming, as she needs Sunday to prepare for going away with work for 3 days, which means Sat night and Sunday are gaming days
YES!!!!
RESULT!!!
Best of both worlds.
You know its only 12:30?
Yeah I've just been for lunch. I finish at 4 today, it's straight back to the flat to get changed. Then taxi to the train station, then on train to london, get lost on underground as half the lines aren't working and some spotty oik tells me to go a different way, but I can't go that way as half the lines aren't working.
Then out of london to where I live, off the train, straight home, brief chat to parents, but long enough so I can ask to borrow some money before I go to my brothers and lose it all at cards.
Sorted.
:-)
Goaty, take into consideration that I'm
> 12, you really think I'd be getting married? :-D
Yeah...that would kind of scupper any marital plans wouldnt it?
