What was that all about?
I can understand that your annoyed with certain Nintendo owning newbies but I can assure you that there's just as many PS owners who are just as bad, if not worse.
Take the topic starter for instance...
WHAT A DIMWIT!!
Lol @ him! :-D
quite a lot of gibberish
My don't you half w*nk over yourself haha, go collect coins out of a toilet for gamers the same age as your IQ thats pretty low in case your having trouble with the maths.
I laugh at ninty's worried about the PSone becoming a kiddy console so it's more competetion for them and they have to fool themselves yet again that they made the right purchase.
It should be nintendo not making consoles instead of the amazingly skilled Sega.
> Strafex, do you read Digitiser? Thought so!
How did you guess? :-)
Listen kid, if a game suffers from poor anti-aliasing, every single straight line in a game, when displayed at an angle, will appear jagged. There are no exceptions, therefore, the problem persists through the game. Because of this is doesn't matter whether you've played GT3 for 2 minutes or 2 years, if you've spotted jaggies on one track, it's on all the tracks.
Now, onto those DVDs. You mention the fact that the 4x drive on a PS2 loads as fast as a 24x drive (not specifying which console). Firstly, load times ARE longer on a PS2 than, say, the Playstation which has a lowly 2x CD drive. So, a slower drive than the PS2 but quicker to load. Also, how dare you say I make my facts up. For this particular topic, my source is Edge magasine. You need to show respect for a veteran gamer like myself.
I don't know where you get your facts from but they're complete bull "no game is on DVD due to...." that shows that you don't know a single thing Zone of the enders,GT3,fur fighters etc are all on DVD so your making up rubbish in a word.DVD's at 4x load as fast as a CD running at 24x.
go have a real good look at GT3 and stop making up stuff"
a)If a game suffers from poor aliasing, it suffers throughout, meaning you'll notice it in every frame.
b)Every game to date on the PS2 suffers from 'jaggies' - FACT. And before you start blurting out 'GT3' and its 'increased' resolution, listen to people who've actually played the game, like me (at PCWorld today in that national comp to win £3000). I was very disappointed with the anti-aliasing and actually found every aspect of the game similar to previous incarnations.
Also, while I'm here, I was having an argument with someone the other day about the number of polys that the cars are constructed of. I said 4000 (as it says in Gamesmaster) and he boldly claimed 10000. Just a minute ago, i was browsing the official GT3 site and they actually claimed the figure to be 'up to 5000'.
Firstly, DVDs are no quicker to load than CDs and, in actual fact, there is not a single game on the PS2 that is actually stored on a DVD, due to developers not need ing the extra space (ofcourse, Square will change all this by taking up about 2gigs of space with impressive, yet extremely boring pre-rendered vids). Also, of all the consoles currently available ont he market, the PS2 is the slowest to load of all of em and makes a heck of a noise when it does.
I own both PS and N64 and no-one i know goes on about what you are sayin, maybe thats just you then!
Sony sent me a voucher the other day giving back £10 off GT so it only cost me £25 there's no way you can argue that thats value for a class brand new game.
and finally Nintendo owners don't cherish their console's good parts they ALL go yeah better than greystation dis is yeah yeah kirby beats any ps game yeah yeah squares, loading times. whats the matter arn't you happy with your console and have to convince each other that the 64 is better.
PSone and two owners know why their console is good and just enjoy it but nearly everyone with a 64 spends more time trying to find something to use against sony like final fantasy is better than zelda or this 64 game is far better than actually enoying your console.
The PS2 is really outstanding even if it suffers from a few jagged edges in some games but if thats gona stop you from playing such amazing titles than your really missing out.
