Has any1 had enough of Mario and co. featurin in nearly evry nintendo game and the amazin overkill of the pokemon series? Seems nintendo find it hard to come up with an original idea, and this is shown with the consoles, nintendo was always 2nd to release - snes afta masta system, N64 afta playstation, and now gamecube afta PS2 and Dreamcast, even the gameboys came afta the game gear. And now 4 the game cube in an attempt 2b original and fresh and 2 break the mould, the main launch game actually won't feature Mario 4 a change, it will feature.... Luigi! Which is really just a lanky Mario painted green, Come On! Don't get me wrong, I luv nintendo far more than sony etc, and mario is very dear 2 me?! butnintendo need 2 b more original and move away from the targetin just kids and come up with more interestin, excitin games

I feel I have a duty to respond to this, even though it's amonst the most ill-informed, and difficult to read posts that I've come across in recent times.

Nintendo ARE making more of an effort in the mature games market, hence the purchace of Silicon Knights, who are developing Eternal Darkness and Too Human exclusively for the GAMECUBE. Retro Studios are too working on games that will please an older audience.

Nintendo know, however, that it would be quite foolish to abandon the profitable 'kiddy' market. They'll keep on producing those games that anyone can enjoy, kids to adult, and I'll keep on buying them.

Sick of Mario?

Yes I can understand why. He only appeared in one SuperMario game for the N64, the other games that featured Mario, were very different from this, such Mario Tennis, and Mario Golf - both excellent, and fun sports titles. Then there are the Mario Party games. These games are amonst the best multiplayer games I have ever played, so no complaints there!

If you're too blind to see beyond a title, and see that Nintendo are using their mascots to bring innovative gaming experiences to the consumer, then I feel sorry for you. I really do.

Excuse me, but Mario is not in every game. He is a mascot and as a mascot he has a right to play a role in a series of games. At least we have a mascot not like you Sony fans :p. Don’t get me wrong but Mario has been in a lot of games and we do need a change... Thank Lord that we are getting a console that has disks! Just thinking of all those amazing games being produced in so little time makes me shake, better save up the ‘ol sterling because a have a funny feeling that it will be disappearing faster than I can think. Better sow up those holes in my pockets. ;)

There's another thing we agree on, Turbo.

Yeah I agree with RawisAndy Mario is like nintendo's mascot of course they are going to want to use him as the main character in a lot of the games. Mario to Nintendo is like what Sonic was to Sega.

The Nintys are here Grix....wake up.

Anyways. The Snes was released after the Master System because it was a mcuh more powerful machine. 16 bit and not 8 bit. The same goes for the Playstation. It was released before the N64 because it wasn't as powerful (32 bit and not 64 bit) also Nintendo partly made the Playstation so I don't think you really know what you are on about.

Well nintendo said that from now on the Mario Games will be aimed more at an older age group, but if that means sticking them in a mansion full ghosts to try and add a resident evil type effect then the age group hasn't been chaged that drastically.
