Dringo looks at screenshot... looks awesome.... presumes Bonus is wrong. The character models are looking wonderful, the level of detail is essentially the same as those in the pre-rendered titles and it is still day time... if I remember correctly the scene where those Zombies attack leon at night with those torches are probably the best looking lighting effects I have EVER seen.
The Gamecube has a better graphics processor than the PS2 and what it has the X-box doesn't is in built 'special effects' creating gorgeous water effects, lighting effects, heat effects... etc... a special in built system that developers were harcking on about several years ago. Luigi's Mansion used most of these effects as did Sunshine... and as does Resident Evil 4.
There is absolutely no dynamic lighting, and no shadows, things which made much of the atmosphere in the last game. If the developers don't implement those by the time the game is released, it wont be the game people want to show off the hardware.
And sorry NB I forgot Jade Empire

No wrong.
Resi 4 does NOT show the cubes potential at this stage of development. The lighting is horrible, the shadows are blatantly rubbish ad the game looked more impressive, more atmospheric and a damn sight scarier with pre-rendered backdrops.
Resi wants to look like Doom 3, but the Cube just can't do that and have those level of detailed models at the same time as a 3d landscape.
Everything in the game is decent minus any form of dynamic lighting effects on the e3 build, lets hope they just haven't been put in yet.

Baiten Kaitous is a killer Japanese RPG from Namco... no need to compare it to Final Fantasy.
Look at Resident Evil 4 and the new Zelda for Cube's real potential.
Now you download that Resi 4 video and see what the Cube can do in the hands of a capable developer..
Oh yes, Baten Kaitos or whatever it's name is. Sweet sweet looking game. Get a vid and see.
:)
Remeber, it's on a PS2, inferior technology to the Xbox, probably on a par with the Cube in the hands of a decent developer.

Click 'Screens' or whatever.
Full 3-D malarky
(That FFXII shot wasn't that impressive either...)
:P
