On America's CNN it was announced the Shiggy Miyamoto was involved in a car crash. His condition was listed as critical.
There is nothing solid yet but there was a huge discussion on the IGN boards people claiming they saw it on TV.

My sentiments go out to him.

Miyamoto is in his forties, I think.

How can no shigsy games have interested you?

Super Mario Kart?
Zelda: Link's awakening?
Super Mario World?

His games encompass some of the very best games in their genres - RPG, platformer, racer - and constantly redefine conventional standards.

There must be some that you've liked.

Zelda for me was very boring.

Mario is especially annoying.

Humm...no Shigssy games have ever interested me, which is probably why I'm a PS2 fan.

I don't know what he saw in Zelda OOT. I didn't really like it that much. Do you know he delayed that 10 times for 3 years!

Is it just me or does the fate of Nintendo rest on that man's shoulders?

It'll be a sad day when he does pull out. But it's reassuring to know Nintendo will be able to churn out great games without him.

As for his age, I have no idea - can't really remember what he looks like.

Maybe he is going to stop. How old must that bloke be? He looks about 50.

Maybe the reason he is taking such a hands-off approach is because he plans to stop making games soon? If that's the case he would be keen to train up the designers beneath him to use their own judgement so that they can make games without his guiding hand in the future which are worthy of the Nintendo logo. Just a thought.

Maybe he should give up making games. They can't be very good any more if he's not interested in them.

He also said he doesn't play games much nowadays. His main hobby is his garden.
