But please choose for this crucial, possible, eventual name change:
Should we be:
1 SpecialReserve.net
2 SpecialDirect.com
3 RedSplat.com
4 SRDN.com (Special Reserve Discount Network)
There can only be one.
Note that we don't own SpecialReserve.com (it's in USA hands) and we don't own SpecialReserve.co.uk as it was registered by the bloke who runs Computer Exchange to stop us getting it.
I've gotten used to Special Reserve, but to be honest, the Special Direct ones sound like those cheap catalogues you get through the door occasionally which sell nothing but cheap goods. (I know your prices are low, but I mean cheap as in 'cack', not cheap as in 'low price'.)
RedSplat is okay, but gives no indication of what you do (I know, Special Reserve doesn't prompt thoughts of computers and games, either, but...) and SRDN sounds and looks too much like 'sardine'!
It depends how general or specific you want the name to be, but something like gamers-paradise.net would be good (the .com version is taken, but you could try and buy it, I suppose...)
keep special reserve.net
> Specialreserve.net
Why would you want to change the name anyway?
There are a number of reasons, but the main one I think is for the longer term future.
Investors like a dot com. And they don't seem to like a games shop which sounds like a bottle of port.
My own view is that we should change to Special Direct. It's much more in keeping with what we actually do, and it's close enough to Special Reserve to get away with the change.
