Has anyone done the mission in Nice where you go to help the chick or take out the truck?

Have tried it a few times going straight to help the chick in trouble. Take out all the bad guys and then she orders me to go after the other chick and kill her.

Everytime I chase that Fabienne chick I can never get close enough to inflict any damage on her and always seem to get taken out and she drives off.

Any tips?
Do you still have to kill her if you choose to go after the truck instead?

There's a cool place in Nice with some massive jumps and a huge Destruction Derby 2-style bowl in the middle. There's also a Tommi Vercelli guy there with an M16 which is pretty cool.

Yup, I think you're on the same wavelength as me. I love cars, I love car chases, I love seeing car crashes. Driver 3 is virtually made for me.

:)

I'm not joking, I've found this one ramp and I've spent hours launching cars off it. It's just a little pile of sand, but when you crash the car off it, it's anyone's guess where you'll end up as it's a pretty unpredictable jump.

Go to Miami, and press left twice when you choose your start location. Then swing your car around 180 degrees and then drive straight on. You'll eventually come to a small bridge, stop at the bridge and look behind you into a car park and you'll see the piles of sand. It's a great little area of the city.

I've always seen Driv3r games as something of a playground for cars - the superb physics and gameplay mechanics always make for intense and unpredictable chases, stunts and feats.

Something I did today just summed that up perfectly. It was one of the missions in Undercover, surprisingly enough, and so this time I was taking it a little more seriously. I was chasing Gator, who had an escort following close behind. Lomaz was riding shotgun (but I was controlling him). One pistol shot through the back windscreen of the escort takes out the driver. The car swerves satisfyingly off the road and up the hill next to it.

Gator turns a sharp corner after this - he's vulnerable now. I'm steadying the car and lining up my shot on his back tyres... when we meet the escort again. It had gone off the road at such an angle and speed that it went up the hill and flipped over towards the road that we'd turned onto. Spinning sideways in the air, it crashes down on the top of Gator's car. Un-freaking-believable.

OPSM2 had to hype the game up though, because lets face it, it's probably the biggest PS2 game in a long time. I agree with you about the AI though, it's truly awful, but the on-foot sections aren't too bad really, they're competent at the very least. Remember, Martin Edmonson even said it himself, they wanted to concentrate on the driving because it is a driving game, the on-foot sections are just really an after thought. If you want to run amock shooting things get GTA, if you want some good car chases get Driver, it's as simple as that.

It is, I've spent hours in that mode alone, probably more than the story mode.

Well for me, one of the best things is just seeing how much I can destroy the cars. I've found this great little spot in Miami that has a good jump and you can have some incredibly cool crashes. You can also just run around shooting stuff up, and if the cops become too annoying, you can always just switch them off.

Then there are the hidden Tommi Vermacellis, you have to find them and kill them. There's ten in each city but I don't know what you get when you kill them all. Plus there are hidden vehicles in each city as well.

I really don't care about the negative comments the game has been recieving as I'm really enjoying it, as are lots of other people. I was in a few game stores today and nobody had a bad word to say about it. I think the critics were just expecting another GTA, but Driver was never meant to be anyway so I can't see why people hold that against it.

Honestly, give it a go. I really can't understand where all this negativity's coming from.

gamesTM called the Take A Ride mode worth the asking price alone.
