"Why did I not win? Explanation please"

On the first of July, I posted my best topic to date entitled "Macots: Past, present and future". I felt this had a really good chance of winning. Normally I don't post to win but I really want GT3 and I can't afford it.

However, this topic was beaten by a topic entitled "SEGA and Nintendo Killed Originality in Video Games". I don't think this topic deserved to win and I thought mine was far better. All I want to know is why didn't I win? Is there a specific reason? Could someone from SR tell me so I can improve next time.

I would appreciate it if someone from SR could reply to this so I know they've at least read it.

Oh, and my 'Console wars' topic on the 2nd August should have won.

I read and responded to both posts, and thought that turbonutters was the more well written article, but Armitage Shanks was the more thought-provoking, and more likely to start a high quality discussion.

It depends on what kind of mood the judges are in on the day too, as to what will appeal most to them.

This topic has also raised the GAD: How do they do it? question, and I haven't got a clue as to how they keep up.

Surely just Ali and Joe cannot judge this, they just don't have the time, given that there's 1000+ posts a day, plus reviews too.

Ali certainly deserves his holiday!

But seriously, if these forums keep on growing, GAD will just be impossible to judge!

I wrote a good topic, it was called, "WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD" I was told that it was ecellent, it had loads of info but it didn't win, Rik-Rik one for some thing, but I didn't complain did I, if it did win I would have been happy, but it never, so who cares??

a) there are only around 1200 posts per day.

b) we don't read all the short ones.

why do you hear people who have won before complain about not wining,i posted a good topic about SONY,and dan2ki said it was good,i thought it was good, you dont hear me complain (I would if I could be bothered),but as they say it is in the past
