Riddick is better than Halo, in fact it is the best FPS game since Half Life, it is beyond the levels of normal expectation. I don't really know what more to say, it is a pretty big statement in itself coming from someone who has finished Halo over 25 times now.

Whether Riddick will offer the same replay value I don't know, I am on my second way through on Hard now and I still want to go back and approach sections differently. It reminds me so much of Deus Ex with the RPG and stealth elements; Riddick of course implements far more refined stealth mechanics but that would be expected from a game released 4 years later.

Everything about it smacks of sheer brilliance and unlike some shoddy indoor sections from Halo which a few complained about, I can find little to no reason at all to find a complaint with the level design in Riddick. Top marks to Vin Diesel as well, along with Saving Private Ryan and Pitch Black I have to say, he does a really top job of bringing over his film character Riddick into the game, this is mainly thanks to the writers of course but none the less he does pull it off perfectly.

When people go on about Half Life, Doom 3 and Halo 2 I would have to say from what I have seen from those 3 games (in particular the hours of footage from Half Life 2) Riddick really isn't far off what they are setting out to achieve. The normal mapping is sublime and what you have seen from the Half Life 2 videos of the Havoc Physics interacting with environments, look no further than Riddick for an early glance into what Half Life 2 will look and play like.

A further £1000 will be spent boosting my PC ready for Half Life 2 and Doom 3, with Riddick though I really don't think that I will play a game that betters it this year, this includes all the big hitters.

A magnificent game that really does push the FPS beyond its limits, top stuff!

Firstly: Nobody here gives a crap about Xbox-PC comparisons.

Secondly: Even on the highest settings, Halo on PC looks balls. It's a port - and a bad one at that.

Thirdly: I'd like you to point out, in my previous post, where exactly I said that Xbox can compete with PC in visuals. Go on, I challenge you to pinpoint exactly where I said that.

Yes, but people with an XBox don't have to spend thousands updating every few seconds. I must be somewhere near the PC if we're getting Half-Life 2, Doom 3 and FarCry.

Saying Doom 3 looks bad is also equally retarded.

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! are you mad? do you really think x box can compete with pc on the visual departement. ok let me put a few things straight for you my friend. x box runs on a tv so every x box game runs at a screen resolution of around 640x480 and in 16 bit colour. any pc from the last 4 years would run halo at these settings.yes it has a good graphics chip set but its now put of date and is based on old n Vidia G force 3 tecnology. now i`ll use a game that appeared on both pc and x box as an example lets choose Star Wars Knights of the old Republic. this game originaly was a pc exlusive but microsoft got in on it and got x box vrsion first. all the texture packs had to be cut in half as xbox couldn`t hanndle them so big the game still struggles too. i run it at a screen resolution of around 1200x 900 with 6xaa and 16xaf on a 9800xt card and it looks and plays beautiful. even x box 2 is based around this card as ati are making the graphics chipset for it and let me tell you now its a watered down version and to say the soon to be releases ati X800 card is twice as powerful well read it and weap my friend. i`m so ick of x box owners talkind rubbish. go to doom 3 website and look at x box screen shots of doom 3 then come back and tell me xbox is as good as pc. you sill y people. you havn`t seen halo untill u seen it running on high detail on a pc mate.

Yay! Pay Day Today! (I'm a poet and I don't know it etc. *sigh*)

Well, I'll give that guy an email in the next few days methinks. This game sounds better and better.

Balls shall be severed if it turns out crap though ;-P
