Hands up how many Nintendo fans tried to s**g off the PS2 for only having 4Mb of embedded VRAM for the Graphics synthesiser chip. Come on now don't be shy, oh well all of you may be interested enough to here that in an official interview on Gamespot ATI's VP of engineering announced that the Gamecube only has 3Mb of embedded VRAM, and it is no where near as fast as the PS2's DRDRAM, which runs at 800mghz and allows a much higher bandwidth in and out of the chip!!
Shame on you all, now apologize to Bonus, then go read the full interview at the address below!!

At the end of day these machines are so fast that the ammount of v-ram isnt going to make a big difference in the overall picture. Just look at the games comming out on GameCube, they look really nice.
Personally I'll make my choice depending upon the games available, and as it stands at the moment I prefer what I see to be coming to the GAMECUBE as opposed to the PS2.

NOOOO, shhhhh, not true and allows Ninty fans to speak about my beloved PS2!!!
But my main point here is, many Nintendo fans accused the PS2 as being crap because it olny had $Mb of embedded VRAM running at a Bandwidth of 42GB\sec, the Gamecube only has 3MB running at 20Gb\sec, so where is the logic in that??? The Gamecube can have it's secondary memory used to staore graphical data, and there is 16Mb of that, but the bandwidth drops to 3.2Gb\sec!! In real terms what this means is Nintendo fans might now believe Bonus when he says that the way these new consoles are designed, they do not need massive amounts of VRAM, because they have massive bandwidths to store data in and they are crunshing numbers at one hell of a rate!!

The DVD facilities of the PS2 were a last minute add on rather than an initial feature (proven by the fact that it wasnt ready for the jap launch). Its just a bonus that the PS2 utilises due to the DVD format it uses.
