PS3, GC2 or xbox 2. This is the question. I suppose I will pick the console thats the most powerful and has the best games. This will quite probably be the xbox 2. But ps2 fanboys are claiming that the ps3 is going to have more power than xbox2. So how will Gc2 fare in this hard market? Their may not even be a GC2. I mean, sales of GC aren't great at the moment so will their be any point in nintendo releasing another console, possibly losing alot of money. They already have a strong grip over the handheld market, but again this could all change. Sonys new psp could dominate and nintendo may just completely go bust. So what are everyones views on this?
However you put it quite clearly as PS2 games playing on PS1 - which just isn't possible.
Sony do not have PS2 games playing on PS1. They have PS1 games playing on PS2.
Just like there is very little chance of Xbox 2 games playing on Xbox.
As for GameCube sales - they're comparable with Xbox sales at the moment and the two systems are still neck and neck.
No there wont be a GameCube 2, as Nintendo aren't dull enough to add a "2" to the end of their system name. Instead it will gain a new name, which at the moment is codenamed 'Revolution' and is in development.

^ That statement there suggests that games made for the Xbox 2 will be playable on Xbox 1.
Not even Sony could pull that off.

They done it with the playstation 2 so why is it a stupid thing to expect?
The fact is they could if they really wanted to, and what about the people who don't have a x box but wan't the x box 2? Do you think for one moment that theese people wouldn't like to play games such as halo but can't because there new x box 2 isn't compatable. The only way I would agree with your point is if they made the new x box2 so different (e.g no hard drive) that they couldn't make it compatable.
It's not like I don't have an Xbox now is it.
But yer, i will stay with Xbox, mainly cause of Live.
