PS3, GC2 or xbox 2. This is the question. I suppose I will pick the console thats the most powerful and has the best games. This will quite probably be the xbox 2. But ps2 fanboys are claiming that the ps3 is going to have more power than xbox2. So how will Gc2 fare in this hard market? Their may not even be a GC2. I mean, sales of GC aren't great at the moment so will their be any point in nintendo releasing another console, possibly losing alot of money. They already have a strong grip over the handheld market, but again this could all change. Sonys new psp could dominate and nintendo may just completely go bust. So what are everyones views on this?
For example an Xbox disc is compatable with an Xbox, but not a Playstation 2.
It's like with DVDs, you need to have Region 2 to play on a standard UK DVD player. If they're not Region 2 encoded (i.e. from America, Japan, etc) then they're not compatable.
I hope that's cleared that up for you.

So the Playstation 2 playing Playstation games is backwards compatability.
The Game Boy Advance playing Game Boy and Game Boy Color games is backwards compatability.
And as a poor example: Windows XP playing the odd game released before 2003 is backwards compatability.

That isn't backwards compatability. If Xbox 2 games played on Xbox that would be a bloomin' miracle.
