If Bill Gates bought Nintendo, just imagine the games Ninty would release:

Super Smash Brothers XP,
Mario (Windows) 128,
Pikmin Millenium Edition,
Donkey Kong Antivirus.

AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!

The thing is, unlike the 300 odd million for Rare, Nintendo and their multiple studio's and billions in liquid assets mean Nintendo are worth so much even Microsoft would feel the strain in buying them.

It'll be the biggest purchase Microsoft would have ever made.

From a fans perspective we'll get a mass of Nintendonline games... plus RARE back so it isn't a bad idea.

But I'd much rather Nintendo starting kicking butt with the DS and Revolution.

Maybe if it goes t!ts up then they'll sell.

It's nice to know that if the worse comes to the worst then that is likely to happen.

*Ponders*

This may be about posturing as much as genuine offers.

It makes Bill, and thus his xbox, look like the 'serious' major company, and Ninty just some little operation he might like to own.

Of course, microsoft are vastly more than just the xbox, but it's still sending out a message that they're much more significant than little ownable ninty.

Whoo, Nintendo aren't interested.

Most excellent.

And it's a German magazine? They were probably high on Brotwursts at the time, or something.
