Yes, its all hear say, but what are your thoughts?
Let's try this the other way around...
2007 - Microsoft bankrupt after world plastic price increases to ridiculous levels. THe estimate 2.5 kg of plastic in a single Xbox 2 controller has seen the manufacturing cost of Microsoft's behemoth console skyrocket, with an average unit price of $30000 dollars.
Sony have now bought out Microsoft, inlcuding the game studio, console manufacturing (which they have closed) and Windows sides of the business.
Nintendo fail in America badly, as everyone gets the PS3 with new SPlinter Cell, Halo, and Project Gotham exclusivity.
Nintendo go bankrupt. Sony buy them, and close them out of spite.
Consumers can only have a PS3 now, with a 100% market share. The unit never drops in price, the games cost a fortune, the online strategy sees gamers strongarmed into paying for the last few levels of a game as they have no choice. License fees on the console are so cripplingly high that most small studios close down within months. Nothing but big name sequels, license and sports games are made as the costs are just too high...
That doesnt sound so fun does it?
But thats exactly what you all seem so enthused about.
He says he's not selling and, after all, Nintendo is a company that's been in his family for several decades.
Cause after all it is a business.
Get in. It'll be a sad day if Nintendo are bought out by Microsoft.
