Yep, lately there have been many arguments over this, and we all know Cube is better than Xbox. If the world had sense there would be no PS2 and XBOX, but there is. So use this thread to destroy the XBOX enemy, and also use it for any Ninty related gossip you have on your chest when the enemy run off. Let World War III begin.

All hail Shvigsy, Ya!!!!

N64 was and still is the greatest console.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is so wrong its just not even worth discussing.

But the PSOne was better than the Saturn. The Saturn only had NiGHTS and a couple of other good games, and even then it could be completed within a couple of hours. GT2, though, had me playing for months on end.

Still, neither are as good as the N64.

Calm down Gar-J, someone will fetch you some crayons in a second.

For the record Gar-J, people have been banned for calling others Gimps on these forums. Do you even know what a Gimp is?

Secondly, I am a Notable because I am better than you. Simple as. I was voted as the most popular member for the day and so was given Notable status.

As for me being right no matter how bad things look - that seems to describe your attitude perfectly. If I am wrong, I'll admit it. No one is ever right 100% of the time. However, you seem to think everything you say is gospel and that no one else can be right at all.

As for staff in shops, I used to work for Game. I would reccomend a console based on the gamers needs. My preference being the GameCube but there was many a time when I reccomended the Playstation 2 and Xbox over it. Most sales assistants can only afford one system though and so they reccomend whichever one they chose to buy for themselves. It's all down to personal preference. Have you ever worked for a videogame specialist store?

Quite what Edgy is notable for, I dunno - perhaps being a gimp? He's very notable for that.

In either case, the Saturn failed because of crap marketing. How many Saturn games did you see on tv? I think I saw 2... which was eclipsed by Sony's "Do not underestimate the power of Playstation!" adverts were on every 10 minutes. Sega's marketing department must have been made up of people like Edgy - convinced that they're right no matter how bad things look for them.

The fact that staff in Game etc. would tell people not to buy a Saturn and that the PS was "much better" didn't help either.

The Dreamcast failed because the hype surrounding the PS2 eclipsed it. SEGA fans after the Saturn had turned their attention to the PS1 or N64 meaning SEGA damaged its fan base.

Although Nintendo gamers looking to bridge the gap between the N64 and Gamecube (a period of about 6 months) bought the Dreamcast it was indeed too late. The console had failed to secure its place in the hearts of the gaming fans.

I will always remember how the small arcadey games I picked up for a fiver made my life a joy between Christmas 2001 to May 2002... but I would never have paid full price for them.

Well done to SEGA for making a great little machine, those that owned one and enjoyed it will know, in their hearts, that they played on SEGA's last great games machine.

Notorious Biggles, as I am not a computer scientist (raised eyebrows) I sometimes have to quote what I read, and on consoledatabase.com, it claimed “the saturn is cable of handling more polygons and has a larger texture memory”, in relation to the playstation. Sorry if this is wrong but I’m not exactly going to dismiss things I read because they may not be accurate

And, the point I made about software, and you responded “Nothing to do with availability. It was to do with so few people buying them”, Hmmm, maybe people would have gone out and brought Crazy taxi or Tonyhawks 2 if they could find em’, I couldn’t, I always ended up seeing piles of Jet set radio or Chu chu rocket, but none of the good titles, and thats, in my view why the dreamcast failed

Tiltawhirl, the dreamcast “was far too arcadey for its own good”, well that’s Sega, always has been but I know what you mean, too many unresponsive games, although I would not say that about Crazy Taxi 2
And Rickoss, “But the Saturn was absolute crap”. Your opinion but I still remember Virtua cop 2 and the light gun.

Well KOTOR was obvioulsy a longer more serious gamer game. Halo i find i can pick up and play whenever due to the fact it can be saved at each checkpoint. Fable and BC isnt out yet so i personally dont have an opinion but are probably more on the lines of KOTOR and Morrowmind.

Wrong. The Playstation could produce more polygons per second. I also know what I'm talking about having been a computer scientist once upon a time. Hardware in particular was my speciality.

Nothing to do with availability. It was to do with so few people buying them but instead waiting for the PS2 that caused the DC to fail.

That's an oxymoron. The Saturn had quite a few really good games. Panzer Dragoon, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Nights, Sega Rally, Daytona USA, Virtua Fighter 1 and 2, Virtua Cop 1 and 2, Command & Conquer, Tomb Raider, Grandia and a bunch of others.
