I reall like the look of this game. I really want to like the actual game, but I'm worried.
I really wanted to like Morrowind, but I didn't have 50+ hours to put into it before I could just about manage to kill a rat. Is the same thing likely to happen here?
I'm much more of a "half an hour here and there" type gamer, rather than a "6 hours straight? That's nothing!" type.
Also, talk amongst yourselves about Fable, it's out 2 months before Halo 2 anyway...
EDIT:
As this thread gets longer it'll be more difficult to find the links I've put in, so I'll add them in here too:
http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=56279 for the Eurogamer.net preview - slightly more frank and shows some of the games possible faults...
http://previews.teamxbox.com/xbox/852/Fable/p1 for the Team Xbox one.
http://xbox.ign.com/articles/539/539090p1.html for the IGN one.
TeamXbox and Xbox IGN are apparently putting the first reviews up at 10am PST today (Friday 27th), which seems to be 6pm UK time.
Plus its always tempting to start another character and use different approaches to the game. If a game is really long, thats where this kinda thing doesn't appeal so much. RPGs like Final Fantasy, I tend to only play through once. Once you've seen all the story, theres little incentive to go back. Morrowind lasts ages, but its getting the motivation to go through all the trouble of levelling up through the early stages again that can put people off.
Fable allows you to spend ages playing the same character if you want to, but avoids the more grating parts of RPGs like running around the same bit of countryside for several hours, trying to make your character(s) stronger for the next part of the game.
Most of the reports I've seen say about 20 hours, not rushing too much. Except Tilt obviously, who has now racked up over 30 hours in the haystacks with random wenches.
I'm on 31 hours and have got tons of stuff to do still. Though people have reported that they've completed it in 9 hours and low figures like that.
OO! A TREE!
