Not quite sure why mine is more Official than any other, but there you go.

I reall like the look of this game. I really want to like the actual game, but I'm worried.

I really wanted to like Morrowind, but I didn't have 50+ hours to put into it before I could just about manage to kill a rat. Is the same thing likely to happen here?

I'm much more of a "half an hour here and there" type gamer, rather than a "6 hours straight? That's nothing!" type.

Also, talk amongst yourselves about Fable, it's out 2 months before Halo 2 anyway...

EDIT:

As this thread gets longer it'll be more difficult to find the links I've put in, so I'll add them in here too:

http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=56279 for the Eurogamer.net preview - slightly more frank and shows some of the games possible faults...

http://previews.teamxbox.com/xbox/852/Fable/p1 for the Team Xbox one.

http://xbox.ign.com/articles/539/539090p1.html for the IGN one.

TeamXbox and Xbox IGN are apparently putting the first reviews up at 10am PST today (Friday 27th), which seems to be 6pm UK time.

I'm willing to bet the people who completed it so quickly were a) trying to impress someone, or b) not actually trying to enjoy it, but instead just rushing through it to be able to say "you can complete it in 22 hours"

This is the bit that worries me:

The same IGN writer reports that around 22 hours of play can be gleaned if all side quests are completed

Although you're supposed to be able to keep playing, even after finishing the main story, so it may not be too much of a problem....

Have you completed it on Silver yet?

Like YH has said, 22 hours is the main quest.

You can boost that up by doing your own things and having fun within the game.

Total Video Games are claiming a U.K release date of October 8th.

And Spong had this report:

According to various reports cropping up overnight, not least one from an IGN staffer, Fable has already been completed in around nine hours when played straight through. That has to be something of a blow to the expectant fanbase already embracing Molyneux’s latest creation.

The same IGN writer reports that around 22 hours of play can be gleaned if all side quests are completed, a figure matching claims made about Fable’s longevity on the run up to its release.
However, the RPG community has come to expect a benchmark of around 40 hours, often with no option to ‘skip’ certain aspects of any particular title.

More news breaking this morning sees several unsubstantiated reports claim that the game can be beaten, with side-quests, in an astoundingly brief 12 hours, which is amazing if true.

We have contacted Lionhead for a response, though none was forthcoming at time of press. When we hear back, you’ll be the first to know.

I've spent about 115 hours on PGR2.

I have no mind.

Or life.

22 hours? I've spent more time on PGR2 than that, 3 times to be precise.

22 hours, apparently, with everything done.

That may just been the main quest - with no deviating at all.

The fun in this game will be doing all the little extra's around the main story....
