Anyone else playing the beta yet? It was released via steam last week to owners of either Condition Zero or the HL2 voucher from ATI graphics cards, and isn't half bad. It was nice to find out how well the Source engine would run on this machine, and the physics and graphical touches impressed me greatly - particularly flashbangs (with images burned on to the screen) and muzzle flashes.

Still a bit buggy, there are regular updates to iron out gameplay glitches and so on, and they're still only using hitboxes for collision detection, though apparently the final will have per-pixel hit detection..

As a person who stopped playing CS months ago, this single level beta got me straight back in to it. All the weapons have been tinkered with slightly (the colt is now unstoppable and the AK generally pants) but that changes with every update anyway..

Worth a look if you qualify for the beta, about a 300mb download I think, just run Steam.

Sorry I didn't post any pics I've had the flu for 2 days, doing my head in :( Bullet are you still selling that Ti 4600? I could do with one for my little bro's comp, name a price and I might take it off your hands.

That's on a 9800 Pro???

That's guaranteed me a sale on one of those cards then - I was contemplating paying the extra for an XT for convenience and stuff, but if a Pro is capable, I'm sorted.

I too think I'll now have to get CZ - I'll see if Gamestation have a second hand one in...

Indeed it does.

My PCs by no means top of the range, guess it may have been 18 months or so ago - 128mb 9800 pro, but the cpu's only an xp1700 (admittedly running at 2ghz, 10x200) with 512mb RAM.

That's 1280x1024 with 4xAA, runs well 90% of the time and looks lurvely :)

I have a steam account with the whole ATI, free Half Life 2 thing. I must download this and have a go, I haven't played a PC game in absolutely ages.
