"Mario Party 6 GC peripheral revealed"

With no fanfare, typically, Nintendo just announced Mario Party 6 will be partly controlled by microphone which comes free with the game.

So I thought at first it'd plug in a control port, but MP6 being big with the multiplayer aspect, the four control ports will be full. So I guess it's plugging underneath?

And now I wonder what other games it'll be used for..

I was expecting a club which you bludgeon yourself to death with for buying a mario party title.

A microphone? :( I was hoping for something more fun like EyeToy camera type thing. I'm sure Nintendo could come up with many a novel way to use that.

Frankly I didn't expect much from the prephiral.

I'm guessing the 2 titles that have popped up on Nintendo's Xmas release schedule 'Git on Da Floor' and 'Git on Da Mic' are most likely something to do with the new peripheral.

Notice the 'cool' spelling of get. Should hope they'll change that before the UK release or it'll sound just a tiny bit stupid. Maybe 'Tw@t on the mic' would be more appropriate?

next they'll 'invent' a dancemat

At least it brings a bit of much needed variety to the Mario Party series, not exactly an exciting prospect though.
