As the most anticipated game of the year is released today, we need a place to discuss the happenings and to arrange games!

A few people asked for this to be created and so here we go.

Trusting everyone has their copy now, so let the fun begin tonight.

I, along with several others will be on Xbox but i know some are Ps3, but its the same game so no point in two threads!

The riot shield is a bit of a hinderance sometimes. Noobtubers and semtex usually finishes them pretty quickly. The greatest weakness that people also exploit is that it doesn't cover your feet. I have been on the recieveing end and done it a few times myself, shoot them in the foot.

I need to play this game again. But ME2 is just taking over my life right now. Perhaps next week i'll resume playing it.

Thanks Chris, partly true....you play on line for fun, entertainment, revenge, hatred...whatever, but at the end of the day MW2 seems to be coming quite 'well known' for the 'cheating' side of life ... nuke strikes after 1 minute of playing, endless supply of semtex (saw this last night), riot shield 'buddies' charging the field, every player bar I or 2 as snipers etc etc. What has happened to the 'pure player' (for want of a better name) - one who just wants to play as a soldier, using what is available-making choices/selections to fit the scene?

And I will say this again - not running around like a 'headless chicken' kniffing and/or sniping all and sundry because the score will bank up quickly making them super hero prestige level 847.... :-) Just what is the point?

PS Within the real world, I would like to see a 'riot shield' withstand the damage as it can do in MW2 - I'll ask my lad in Helmand province how many they use.

I think what Dragon is saying is that riot shields, like grenade launchers, are an easy way to play the game online. To be honest, i prefer having all the speed perks on and just running around knifing :)

Really?

I see plenty of people on the first, second, even third prestige using Riot Shields and Grenade Launchers are widely used even on the 10th Prestige as they are very effective at taking out groups, people behind cover etc

So....?

So .... no point :-)

You can also semtex them (and there is usually two + one other) from the front....and get triple kill :-)

PS See the use of these useless pieces of equipment less and less as the levels increase - not seen any prestige levels using these as 'weapons of choice':-)

Perhaps the Riot Shield is as useful as the grenade launcher, which has an equal notoriety as a waste of time:-)

I have to disagree in that Riot Shields, used well, can be very effective. I personally don't like using them and it's always annoying when someone's doing what's been described but if you're standing in a position against a wall - ie at the top of the stairs on Skidrow, you can bash people to death fairly easily

Combine the riot shield with knowing when to switch to your sidearm and shoot someone, or when to use a throwing knife and they can be a very deadly combination

I agree that if you just walk around with one and attempt to bash someone with no cover behind you, they may run but it's likely they'll get behind you/semtex you etc

TBH, don't really see the point of riot shields - semtex destroys them, you can't shoot holding them etc. One advantage though, protect your back when running. Not worth using full-time though. :-)

I'm still on level 12 multiplayer! I have completed single player on veteran though. :)

Last game I had involved me and a buddy both using riot shields...loved the reaction of the majority of people who encountered us... a "arghhh, run away!!!" or " throw grenade, throw grenade.... they're still alive???". The best times are when we box in the poor guy and he has nowhere to go - so he tries to jump away! We just bash him dead.
