Thinking of doing it when I turn 16 and I was just wondering if anyone knows about the various options you can take? I'm sending off for the DVD and such but I was just wondering if anyone here has been or has a family member that's joined hte army.

Well I'm sort of in fake RAF. I'm part of the school's CCF (Combined Cadet Force) section and every Friday we get to pretend we're soldiers and run around on the field with guns. Also, every so often they take us to a big field where we do 'war games' which is basically a massive game of hide and seek.

We don't really count as proper RAF people but important RAF blokes regularly come to do inspections and we do rememberance parades and all that sort of thing. Also, the uniform is real. I've also got a funky badge showing I'm handy with some cheap rifle that the school has about twenty of.

Exactly what I was planning to do, though learning the skills at Uni whil'st being paid tuision fees doesn't sound like a half bad idea.
