Thinking of doing it when I turn 16 and I was just wondering if anyone knows about the various options you can take? I'm sending off for the DVD and such but I was just wondering if anyone here has been or has a family member that's joined hte army.

The Rib is thinking of the army? Could this be the start of a dramatic turnaround from mushroom veteran waster to upstanding officer?
Anyway, tons of options you could take. There's the officer route, the different trades (combat, engineerting, etc.). You can also join the TA as opposed to regular (so can you hold down a job/college) at the same time. Go to your local AFCO and ask about stuff, though don't smoke a joint just before.

The army is an interesting option to take, but I wouldn't be able to handle the commitment and discipline enforced in it.
As well as the fact you'll need to be super-fit and healthy.

I wouldn't. just not the thing for me. Know a few people who have or are planning too though. One of my 'friends' (read: aquaintence) is planning on doing the suggested army-funded-uni thang.

The CCF in general seems like a pile of ass.
