I'm wanting to get a telly in my room at uni (cheaper than getting drunk with fools every night) but seeing as I'm only here until May/June then it seems silly to pay a full years license fee. Is it possible to pay by monthly installments so I can terminate the license in june and get it a little cheaper?

Thanks in advance.

I find it confusing.

Anyway, I won't get a fine for many reasons.
I live in a blokc of flats with lots of students who I assume don't have a license so how they'd pinpoint me I'd like to see. They aren't allowed in my home and apparently I can say I use it for my PS2 and they can't do Jack about it.

Don't they give you a warning too? I'll just pay then.

If NOBODY paid for teh TV license, then they'd eventually stop it.

Anyway, they use money from it for their radio stations, so why not call it a TV And Radio license?

Get a little portable and one of those £10 aerials, they're actually really good. Don't bother with the licence fee, I have no intention of ever paying it. Just make sure when you buy the TV you don't fill in any detail sheets.

I got my TV lisence before I came here, and you do get a refund for the times you are away.

But still, apparently, if you even just plug your TV in it's socket without a lisence, the van will be able to detect it.

I watch TV all the time, including the BBC. I WATCH IT ALL THE TIME, FOR FREE

I would get it if it wasn't such a rip-off.
