HERE ARE THE RESULTS OF THIS COMPETITION. I have read ALL the entries!

A lot of entries mentioned things which have generally been discussed before or are in the pipeline. They include:
User Profiles
Polls
Walkthroughs and Game Guides
Highest Scores
Who is currently posting
Splash Plastic (which is too expensive for us to do)
Online Reddies
Logos and Ringtones (see UKphonetones.com)
Genre search for games
Tell a Friend.

It just goes to show how busy we are that we are unable to get many of the above into place. But hey, expenditure is controlled by income (hint).

I liked Darkness' idea about tutorials, and Mantis made the suggestion to have a "Gamesmaster" of the forums based on competitions for high scores.

Cookie Monster wants people to be able to promote their website (we already offer this for Freeola customers) and he also suggests that we have an office pet which is monitored with a web cam (brilliant).

Monkey_with_Attitude suggests a "most played games of the week" counter on UKgames.com.

Freak of the Dark says our logo should "move or something".

Turbonutter reckons we should run Flash games and this is supported by Shaneo who says we should run SR Arena and give prizes to the best players. Turbonutter also tells us that we are lacking on PC game specification of the type you find on the back of the box and Swish extends this to a link under each title.

CDouch is a "man of a thousand ideas", mostly on the button too. He lists: Information on gaming from around the world, more mini sites like UKgt3, kids corner, celebrity visits and better organised release info including more information on unreleased games (to name but a few of his suggestions).

The rules (written by Kendozod) state "exciting and would attract a lot of visitors".

THE WINNERS ARE:
CDouch for MORE INFORMATION ON UNRELEASED GAMES.
Turbonutter for FLASH GAMES.

Many thanks for all of your participation and, for the time being, I promise not to confuse the issue by holding any other similar competition.

Below are the original rules written by Kendozod

New Site Features.

Tony has let me loose to post a new and exciting competition!
So here goes:

This competition is for all of you to think up new features for our websites. We already have cheats, clips, demos, discussions etc but are there other features you would like us to add?

The aim here is for the feature to be low admin maintenance and low in cost (obviously!) but be exciting and would attract lots of visitors.

They can be fun, educational, business, reference, silly, cool - anything as long as they NOT sexual or violent in nature.

This competition is open for 1 month and the best ideas that we USE will win a game as part of GAMEADAY. If no ideas are used then I will pick 1 winner that I deem the best.

CLOSING DATE: 8th July 2001

So get thinking and posting. Remember, your suggestions could make a difference!

Have a page where screenshot of the month is shown. People can send in their PC gameshots by email or consoles by post. Then the pictures are put on the page. They can be funny or whatever but it will be added with a little title by the shot taker.

Also you could have a quote page where the quote of the week is put. This judged either by staff or users.

Yes, but it's also OUR idea seeing as I for one never even saw your idea, and said it anyway. However, this idea has been suggested a long time ago. Still, if you were the first person to post it, in this post, then you should win should this be the only idea for new features.

How about having an icon under everyones name like a clock under mine. We could all get our own ones and it would really personalize us.

I don't know how many of you read the CVG mag and enter the £100 pound quiz. Because I do and every monthe SR could hold a quiz like that except the prize dosen't have to be like theirs £100 pounds of games or whatev from SR it could be something you SR crew decide on!

A competition that uses a place for online gaming where you hold your own compos.

But this would have to be sometime in the future when the GameCube is officially sorted with its new Broadband modem and the PS2 and XBOX are too.

And the winner wins something of his choice from the site as long as it is up to or under £100 and the 3 runners up win a game of their choice or a free gift or something.

Like in the NOM mags except the winners in there get like 6 games and a GBC game, goodies and the like.
I'm just trying to keep the prices reasonable.

How about letting people write their own game help guides on this site.

It could be similar to the Gameaday/Filmaday competitions but if the guide is good enough you could win something a bit more expensive. However there would only be a winner chosen per fortnight (That way it's low cost and there's not too much pressure on the judges)

All guides could be put up like the cheats....you click on "UKguides.com" and there's a list of all consoles. Click on the console name and you'll see the list of games.

Click on the game name and you'll see a choice of guides written by different people.

However if guides are copied from elsewhere (e.g. Prima Official Books) then they get taken back off.

I know I'd be able to write a few guides for games....it would take me a bit of time but I'd do it...

A swap forum/shop.

People place up items they want or have and then people place offers and questions on those items, to make sure there is no one way sendings. SR can be the middle men and swap the items other before sending them on...
