HERE ARE THE RESULTS OF THIS COMPETITION. I have read ALL the entries!

A lot of entries mentioned things which have generally been discussed before or are in the pipeline. They include:
User Profiles
Polls
Walkthroughs and Game Guides
Highest Scores
Who is currently posting
Splash Plastic (which is too expensive for us to do)
Online Reddies
Logos and Ringtones (see UKphonetones.com)
Genre search for games
Tell a Friend.

It just goes to show how busy we are that we are unable to get many of the above into place. But hey, expenditure is controlled by income (hint).

I liked Darkness' idea about tutorials, and Mantis made the suggestion to have a "Gamesmaster" of the forums based on competitions for high scores.

Cookie Monster wants people to be able to promote their website (we already offer this for Freeola customers) and he also suggests that we have an office pet which is monitored with a web cam (brilliant).

Monkey_with_Attitude suggests a "most played games of the week" counter on UKgames.com.

Freak of the Dark says our logo should "move or something".

Turbonutter reckons we should run Flash games and this is supported by Shaneo who says we should run SR Arena and give prizes to the best players. Turbonutter also tells us that we are lacking on PC game specification of the type you find on the back of the box and Swish extends this to a link under each title.

CDouch is a "man of a thousand ideas", mostly on the button too. He lists: Information on gaming from around the world, more mini sites like UKgt3, kids corner, celebrity visits and better organised release info including more information on unreleased games (to name but a few of his suggestions).

The rules (written by Kendozod) state "exciting and would attract a lot of visitors".

THE WINNERS ARE:
CDouch for MORE INFORMATION ON UNRELEASED GAMES.
Turbonutter for FLASH GAMES.

Many thanks for all of your participation and, for the time being, I promise not to confuse the issue by holding any other similar competition.

Below are the original rules written by Kendozod

New Site Features.

Tony has let me loose to post a new and exciting competition!
So here goes:

This competition is for all of you to think up new features for our websites. We already have cheats, clips, demos, discussions etc but are there other features you would like us to add?

The aim here is for the feature to be low admin maintenance and low in cost (obviously!) but be exciting and would attract lots of visitors.

They can be fun, educational, business, reference, silly, cool - anything as long as they NOT sexual or violent in nature.

This competition is open for 1 month and the best ideas that we USE will win a game as part of GAMEADAY. If no ideas are used then I will pick 1 winner that I deem the best.

CLOSING DATE: 8th July 2001

So get thinking and posting. Remember, your suggestions could make a difference!

Oh bloody hell! Isn't there any idea that you haven't suggested? And when there is an idea suggested that you already have one can you just shut the hell up about it?!

I've got one!

The general look of the forums is great but the font which you use isn't really that appealing... at least not to me. Anyway, I thought that maybe you could add an option that allows you to change the font of the text. It would give veryone an oppurtunity to express themselves... sort of... anyway, I think it would make the foums look a lot nicer and more welcoming. Maybe have 10-20 fonts to choose from. The other thing that couples with this is the font size. I think it's fine but on my school computers I can't read anything. So, how about adding in an option to increase or decrease the font size? (The font size for our posts I mean) Not by too much or we'd just have people taking up whole pages with 3 words, but maybe we should be able to put it up 10 and down 10.

Well, there's my idea :-D

My idea is a good one because it's an easy and cheap way of attracting new people to the SR site. Although it is unoriginal in some respects (for those who think the idea is copied), it's a good way of making the site more popular.

You could have links to java/net games like Bomberman and Chu Chu rocket. There are also some good multiplayer java games out there. You would have a section devoted to the Java games you wish to link to and a forum so people from the forums could break from arguing and tear each other apart on multiplayer java games.

Examples of multiplayer games would include yahoo games and Aol games. Some other games have a high score system in which people could use to lenghen their interest in the game.

This would be a good idea because it would be a cheap way to attract people to the site and keep the people here interested (not that we aren't). It would not take too long, maybe a couple of days work to get the page up and running. The main advantage of this idea is that the process is cheap and you would profit from the extra people visiting the site.

The process is cheap, it doesn't take up too much web space because you don't need to download the game you would need to link to it. Obviously you would need to get the sites approval but that shouldn't pose too much of a problem because I have seen the same game on multiple sites before.

Some examples of sites are the Chu Chu rocket online game. I can’t post the URL because it thinks I’m being rude and prevents me from doing so (it’s too long). Another site is www.eyeone.com. There are many other sites like the yahoo games that are very popular.

A competition forum:
A room where all extra gameaday competitions are announced. People who don't visit other forums don't miss competitions and hence you get more interaction with site visitors.

How about on the main pages a word saying whether the office is open or closed so people can check whether its open when they place an order. This may encourage people to buy more things knowing their purchases will be processed very quickly. Also good if they want to phone Special Reserve about something.
