Columbo, there's nothing like it. He's a brilliant character and I can watch Falk play him for ages. Even the new ones retain a certain *something* even though they're mostly crap. The older ones are fantastic, it's pure brainpower and detection.

The Persuaders. Not quite detectives, more like rich playboys who stumble into mysteries, but they still solved 'em.
I'm kinda stuck now... can't think of any others immediately.
- Morgan Freemans character in Seven?
- Definitely not the Sloans or Jessica watsit.
- Sherlock should probably be mentioned. Maybe Cadfael, Morse, Marple? -
- Bad Boys, though not detectives in the traditional sense, were fun.
- Poirot, despite the strange walk was good I thought.
- Columbo was always funny with the "Just one more thing..."
