Translation :

Bush to begin his shortlist of possible scapegoats.

I despair at the fact that somebody so inept and irresponsible is effectively in control of the world.

I think "rude boys" and the sort would practically run London in such a chaos and people would fear leaving their houses with the police forces over stretched. New Orleans don't have rude boys, so they were lucky. In more urbane Northern cities we may have been seeing what would be similar to post-apocalyptic scenes.

That was just foul news to be hearing at the same time as such an incident.

Exactly.

Sevenoaks -> 4 oak trees standing in 1988.

However that was nothing really, yet still the worst in years and years.

That sort of 'Hurricane' would probably knock down a small tree.

I'd like to think us Brits would act like real people and not loot and rape like the Yanks have been doing. Who knows...

There was nearly a hurricane somewhere in Britain before. One more mph of windspeed for it to have been official.

Not really?

We don't have and coastal major ports on an American scale apart from Southampton area. The Isle of Wight wood take some of the puff out of this hypothetical hurricane anyway.
