It's 9pm and I'm back at school tomorrow. So far, out of my holiday homework (which included re-doing pretty much the entire analysis and design stages for long course ICT) I have only managed to read a short story for English. I'm in deep poop.

The problem with having so much work involving computers is that I go on the computer ready to work and then I think, "I'll just have a quick look on SR" or, "I'll just have quick couple of rounds of poker." Then I never actually do the work. It's happening right now.

Oh well, I'm sure I'll get away with it, I always do.

That's the sort of sentence that I know I'll regret saying.

JFH, I had a teacher very similair to yours, and I completely agree with MJ, she made us work really fast and we had to write down tonnes, but I did amazingly well when it came to the exam. I've got a few retarded teachers at my new school and I know I'm going to do bad in those subjects, unless someone else, like my Dad, helps me.

I was lazy up until about the age of 9. When I suddenly became interested and shot up into all the best classes.

Then I became lazy after a few years of being at the top.

But today I woke up at half 5 and managed to do 3 pages of business c/w.

Yeys....

Then I switched the modem on. And now i'm here :(

Hahah. You sound just like me :-)

Screw working harder. You've still got 2 and a half terms yet.

Although I've never been overly motivated I personally found learning easier and more worthwhile up until about the age of 16, aka just before my GCSE's. From there it's been a bit of a struggle for me to get myself to work. Hopefully taking something I'm interested in at university will change this though.

To Chr1s,

True.

Yet that only ever happens in lessons where I'm ahead with the workload (such as English, Tech and occassionally History) whereas when I don't do the work I can guarantee the deadline will be shortened or simply stay the same.

My motivation has really ebbed away since the start of year 7 and although I should be thinking 'GCSEs; work harder' I'm really not motivated unless we're doing coursework.

The lessons themselves are actually quite pointless except in a few select subjects where we might actually learn something.

Deadlines for GCSE coursework were always a joke anyway. My original deadline for my business studies coursework last year was mid October but nobody was even close by that point.

I didn't get it finished until the following June and I got an A* for it.

Teachers tell you that deadlines are important to worry you into working harder. The deadline nearly always gets extended for GCSE's.
