Maths : A
Only did that exam. I do the rest next year.
And you?
I was sailing along nicely (lost all interest) and then they threatened to throw me out!
It's okay though, Sheepy will show them all wrong this year. You'll see
It's ridiculously hard to get into Queens for medicine even though it apparently isn't that good. I love it.

yeah, that's really strange. It used to be high but dropped way down for no apparent reason : S

They're still both 4As and a B at Higher, and AAB at A-levels. Even with those marks, you still need a LOT more to get in for medicine - my brother also got 6 As and got rejected from Dundee and Glasgow, but accepted into Edinburgh
Glasgow is 6th out of medical schools in the UK by the Times league tables, Dundee's 9th, and Queens is 18th

English?
Explains why so many doctor's notes look like pre-school scrawling. :D

Yeah, they go on the UCAS form. I think they dropped the B subject so their predicted grades would have been AAA (which is what they got in the finish up as well). I'm not sure if they did another course or did medicine elsewhere, but they got rejected from 2 or 3 unis despite their good grades.
How much GCSEs count all depends on the course and the uni it's at. For things like English/History etc they wouldn't really care as long as the overall performance is decent and the specific subject is up to a suitable standard at A-level.
