If there are any fans here of similar films to those I already listed then I'd appreciate some recommendations that aren't too insane. I don't want anything that's just an excuse for random animated soft porn either.
Cheers, people.
> yeah I love Azumanga, Osaka-san and Tomo-chan are my favourites :) we

Heh, the Yukari-Mobile!! :D
Oh, and that goddamn vicious cat. *CHOMP* Aaaaah I'm going to watch them all again this week.
heh that damn cat is evil :D my brother bought the manga of it, it's just made up of 4 panels (but going down not across) theres a lot of great scenes that ended up in the anime but there are still some really funny ones that didnt :)
That one teacher with glasses, cant remember his name, god he's weird, I feel sorry for that one girl he likes so much lol
edit:
Also, among all the trailers on the 6 Azumanga Daioh DVD's, three things caught my eye: Angelic Layer, Full Metal Panic and Get-Backers. Good?
It was quite good too. Not the best thing I ever watched but entertaining.. Kind of a weak ending though.
Albino-Man, I've seen quite a few DVDs of Full Metal Panic (nothing to do with FullMetal Alchemist should anyone think it), I quite enjoy it, it's a mix of comedy, drama and mechas. They did another series in the same universe, same characters but it's more focused on the comedy than action like FMP. I cant remember if the trailers for FMP make it seem like it was all action and mecha, the choice for the DVD cover might put people off who dont realise it's more of a comedy.
Here's a review of the first DVD, it'll give you an idea of what the series is like. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/reviews/display.php?id=497
I've seen 2 DVDs of Get Backers, it's okay not great, it's entertaining but if you liked the trailer you might like it :) Umm was going to link to a review of the first DVD but the site is down at the moment, I'll add it when it's back up. Always worth taking a quick look at reviews.
Angelic Layer I havent seen, but I would like to, not really sure what it's about. Here's a review of it http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/reviews/display.php?id=555 it's getting Bs and the C for story doesnt look so good, here's a snip from the review "watching Angelic Layer is a lot like watching two people play a fighting video game. It’s highly interesting if you play the game yourself, but since nobody can actually play Angelic Layer, the fight scenes are completely skippable"
If anyone is interested in FullMetal Alchemist here's a review of it http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/reviews/display.php?id=714 it pretty much got As for everything which I think it really deserves, a great series, it can be dark, it can be funny, it can be sad, you name it. And if you like FMA you'll probably love Naruto too. (Though I just watched episode 146 and the series is still going, so I'd hate to buy them all on DVD)
Another series that I recently watched was Scrapped Princess which I thought was pretty good http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/reviews/display.php?id=751 it's a bit of fantasy, sword fighting, comedy, cant remember if there was a bit of romance. It's about a brother and sister looking after their adopted sister who is suppose to hold great power that will destroy the world should she reach the age of 16. She was suppose to be killed when she was born but she survived and now they travel the land running from the authorities and the churches stopping anyone trying to kill her. Not an easy job. The dub was good.
Anyways, another pretty good series is Read Or Die. A bit cheesy, but fun, fun, fun.
> I spent the last week watching all 26 episodes of Azumanga Daioh.
is that the one with the teacher who keeps saying really suspect stuff?? :D
if so, yeah. it's pretty cool.
i saw one the other day about some little kid that solves mysteries (usually poirot-like murder) and has to let an older guy take the credit so everyone thinks he's great.
Chobits is awesome, Interstellar 5555 also rules (the daft punk soundtrack suits it wonderfully) and Galaxy Railway is also pretty sweet.
