Whether he's a gangsta or not, he's marketed through a very pretentious image.

The image of choice in commercial rap is based on status, and in order to outdo each other, most rappers are trying to go further and further in the ways they try to claim status, but ironically when it's done so transparantly they just become a bit of a joke.
