Tommorow I should be getting WoW and I was wondering if any of you could recommend me a server to join, and the best class of character to have.

Pffft, typical alliance, Shamans r00lz and rogues aren't that bad either, but Paladins and Warriors are a bit, well, boring. I'm sure some people enjoy being able to wield big axes and getting to use the best armour, but they are least interesting classes in the game.

I'm a Night Elf Hunter on Dragonmaw. My name is OddToe.

The place where I start off is very dark and gloomy (I gather this is because I am a Night Elf), is it possible to venture into other cities and areas or am I confined to this place because of my race?

I'm wandering the forest slaying animals and collecting weird crap. Just wanted to know if I could venture into new lands where it wasn't so dark, and gloomy.

I started on an owl creature thing, and it killed me.

I'm sure SHEEPY or someone will escort you to IF. It's quite a distance but I find the dwarf/human areas much better than the elf area so it's worth it.

Restart as a different character?

I hate the Night Elf starting place, the colours hurt my head.

I quite like the Human starting place, ye olde medieval forrest theme.
