Turns out that the deal for Robinho is never going to happen due to the confusion over the amount of money Real Madrid would have to pay to Santos.
So instead they've opted to sign Julio Baptista. Admittedly only Marca seem to have picked up this so far, but by what they're writing, it seems pretty much like a done deal for 20 million Euros.
Edit - just confirmed on the BBC. £13.8 million to Sevilla, and Baptista signs for Real.

Wonder where Robinho will go, then, if anywhere.
But why, exactly do Madrid need him? They don't need Robinho, but I thought the chase of him was because he's the next big thing and all that, he's going to be PELE!!11 and solve world peace.
But if that moves is off, they're buying Baptista to sit his ass on the bench, surely? He'd be played behind the two strikers, right? But that's where they want Zidane/Raul to play this season. It was a left winger that Real were after.
So, Real don't need him. But more importantly, what does this mean for Mikey?
I don't quite understand this rubbish anyway - to buy Robinho the club HAS to pay 30m euros? Cannot be negotiated?
