FFF, I can help you on Thunderhorn Horde, as I have a lvl 7 Warlock who would like some help.
I've got 4 characters on Thunderhorn, and yes, there's still a fair amount of new players about. I proffer PvE to the PvP servers, though perhaps that's because I wasn't really that comfortable with constant PvP all the time, still, join the horde and you can guarantee to get in fight (if you want) alliance raid the Crossroads all the bleedin time, though they do outnumber about 4 to 1 there.
Also, if you join a PvE server you'll be able to create both Alliance and Horde characters, and experience the game from both sides.

Undead rogue is becoming as bad as NE hunter.
I'm still thinking of getting this, but due to the lack of a job (at the moment) I can't afford it. I should be getting a job in the coming weeks, so how much is the subscription fee? And is the game welcoming for new players?
Yeah, but I could never be bothered to keep them all up to the same kind of level. I'll probably just pick one and run with it, unless I hate it.

Meh, you can have up to 8 characters on one server, and asmany servers as you like.
I just picked Human Priest and have stuck with it.
You can potentially have a character of every different class, race and sex. And hairstyle.
