They'll know where we are/where we are going/what we are buying, and then sell this information off to the people who make ringtones.

He should be the mascot for the whole thing, a little card with a smily face and legs and stuff, you know, give it a good image and make people feel a lot better about the whole thing.

Our government would never do anything like this. They're honest and treat us like adults. They wouldn't act in such a totalitarian fashion, nuh-uh.
I mean we were all asked if we should attack Iraq, we're being asked if we want ID cards, we've been continually consulted about biometric passports and I know I was, only the other day, polled about my feelings concerning our unwillingness to actually do something about Mugabe - a dictator who *is* brutalising his people under full view of our media.

Interestingly, has anybody seen the recent attempts at making us happy and serene about ID cards?
Whereas before Blair banged on about DEFEATING TERRORISTS!!! and stopping THREATS TO KILL YOU IN YOUR SLEEP!!!! and preventing CRIMS FROM BONGO BONGO LAND STEALING YOUR HOUSE!!!! - now it's a calm "Look, it'd be easier for you really, think of all the other ID you need to have at the moment. Come on you silly people, stop worrying and let us do this, it wont cost much. What are you doing Dave? Just what do you think you're doing Dave?"

It's subtle but you can see it happening before your very eyes if you watch closely and take a step back from smiling talking heads on the news.
