I think distributing the software or music for money or for free is wrong, and sure you shouldn't "acquire" stuff but it's never going to stop.
It's one of those crimes because you don't see a visible victim it doesn't seem as bad, like robbing a bank or nuking a country.

Basically if today's generation can't figure out that copying someone else's work and giving it to mates for free or selling it for profit isn't bad then there's something wrong with them.
