Without any visible damage to the shell? It's just it needs to be faulty for me to get a new one with a Samsung drive.

End.

Just buy a Samsung drive off eBay and fit it yourself, they're very easy to do.

If you still want to follow the Xbox-breaking route, don't unscrew the case - it voids the warranty obviously.

Try something like taking a screwdriver to the Drive Lens. Pour some water in the drive, only enough to short it. I don't know.

Yes but I have a crappy Thomson drive which I don't want. If I can do this I can get a good Samsung drive. Something I want. Fook saves.

If it's not faulty don't bother. Especially since you run the risk of damaging the hard drive and losing all your saves.

Failing that, open it up and rub carpet on the chips on the motherboard.

Firstly switch your xbox on,...then get a screw-driver and shove it in one of the air vents,....please note that while doing this you need adult "supervision"( so they can ring the ambulance)....if this does not work chuck it in a pan full of boiling water!!hehehe
