Without any visible damage to the shell? It's just it needs to be faulty for me to get a new one with a Samsung drive.

Just type in crack open your xbox and go to the link with lliama.com on it to find how to open xbox. Just make sure you have torx or star screwdrivers (halfords sell them).

Incredably easy to fit a dvd drive and saved myself a lot of money.

Power supplies hold a charge for a certain amount of time. Same with monitors. That's why you should discharge them (earth them) before tampering, kiddies!

Anyone? Plus is it possible to change the drive to a Samsung if I have a Thomson drive?

I know you said no visible damage... but you could always "accidently" drop it down the stairs.

You could actually asked someone to intslalled the new psu, The installation would cost £20 to £30 it's better paying than get a shock of your life and get dead.

My x-box broke. . . the PSU died. So i bought another one for £20 and fitted it myself. Works fine and was better than getting a new one for 99.99 or refurbished one for 79.00.

However, I did nearly die. I took the old PSU out of the box even though it had been disconnected from the mains for about 2 weeks and I got the biggest electric shock i've ever had. Agh, freaks me out just thinking about it.
