Just type in crack open your xbox and go to the link with lliama.com on it to find how to open xbox. Just make sure you have torx or star screwdrivers (halfords sell them).

Power supplies hold a charge for a certain amount of time. Same with monitors. That's why you should discharge them (earth them) before tampering, kiddies!

Put a CD lense cleaner in it. That seemed to mess my first one up

How come you got a shock if it was disconnected??
Was it still plugged in but switched off?

I know you said no visible damage... but you could always "accidently" drop it down the stairs.

You could actually asked someone to intslalled the new psu, The installation would cost £20 to £30 it's better paying than get a shock of your life and get dead.
