The song that goes "Every day I love you less and less" or something like that.

It's excellent but I have no idea who the artist/band is.

Really good depending on the situation.

'Nu Metal' bands are generally great for playing games to.

I like how many of them have simply ditched solos because it doesn't fit in with how they do things. So they bring a fresh approach which beats listening to the same old formula tme and time again.

Of course the masters of breaking formula are Joe Jackson and Ozric Tentacles.

Both of which are so varied that you'd find it hard not to find 10 songs from each that you like - I kid you not.

Pretty much, yeah.

That's not to say I don't dip into the heavy stuff every now and then.

I quite like some of the heavier Metallica and I'm quite partial to my SOAD.

However there are some damn weak/crap bands in your bands. (As I'm sure you'd say about me if I put mine up...)

Conclusion:

I like heavier stuff than you.

Where your music range ends (Velvet Revolver, G 'n R) mine is just beginning.

I even like about 3 Rammstein songs. :D

Yup. Some other better stuff too. Amazing drum and guitar solos from their Japan tour... Might like them if you're into Dire Straights. My mates a big DS fan, but I prefer Deep Purple myself.

Heh. This shows how you like "active" music.

Good, good.

Yet you slate Thom. They are probably the most variable band. I suggest you get some of their stuff from Amnesiac or Kid A. If you don't like that stuff, then go to the other end of the scale and check out Kid A and OK Computer. Hail to the Thief might be a nice halfway house to start at.

Not sure if you'd like them or not. Try getting a bit of their stuff. Run, run, run. Femme Fatale. Heroin.

Pffft. Can't see that link myself. Don't like Stone Roses much.

Some god awful stuff in there, but Dandy Warhols, The Verve, Velvet Revolver and Dire Straights revive it a bit.

Now some random bands/groups i listen to on occasion:

Godhead, Space, Manson, Dandy Warhols, My Vitriol, Prodigy, American Hifi, 2nd Gen, breed77, Theory of a dead man, Papa Roach, Linkin Park, (Early) garbage, some of The Verve, Mad at Gravity, Blink 182, POD, RATM, Disturbed, The Police/Early Sting, Lit, AAF, Velvet Revolver, some Korn, some Dire Straights, Eminem, Jesus Jones, Nut, Snakers Pimps and One Minute Silence.

To name but a few. :)

Fair enough.

I haven't heard them...

Just out of interest, so I have a better understanding of your "unique" taste, rate the following bands. (Yay, Nay or Meh)#

Deep Purple
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Guns and Roses
Radiohead
Oasis
Coldplay
Blur
Velvet Underground
Kasabian
Led Zepplin

However their music seems solidly based in 60's influences which makes the link to the other 'The' bands that do the same a rather solid one.

Regardless, Ozric Tentacles are the best band I've ever heard.
