Owens scored many important goals for Real Madrid this season.

Problem is good goal scoreres fall into two categories, the ones who score the important goals and the ones who don't. Owen only seems to score goals when it doesn't matter, i.e. in friendlies and when matches are already won.

Lil Bro criticising a Spurs player and not proclaiming him to be better than God? What's going on, have i stepped into another universe?

No doubts Defoe is good, but I can't believe Owen scores a hat-trick against a half-decent South American side (not exactly San Marino, are they) and people still put him down.

His scoring record for England argues itself.

Yeah, I think I prefer Johnson.

He can hold onto the ball better than Defoe, and he's got power as well as pace. He's also a very experienced penalty taker.

I thought he had a solid game against the USA and, had he have been partnered with Owen and not Smith, he'd have probably got one or two assists.

I'd feel more comfortable with him as a substitute than Smith, Crouch and Heskey. I'm a bit unsure about Defoe at the moment.

Skit at Downing or Crouch...Downing didn't play yesterday so i wont take the mick out of him but..... Crouch...The worlds lankiest player. Why cant we have a decent forward apart from Owen or Rooney. I wouldn't mind if crouch was good, but he's not, and anyone who says he is needs to look at other countries forwards!

Defoe hardly got a chance yesterday though. The team on the whole was fading out when he was brought on. Hardly the foundations for him to make an impact.

Needs to start a few more games for me.
