True there won't be many games, but how do you know there won't be any?

I probably would stay on campus even if the uni was just down the road. It's just part of the whole experience, and you'll miss out on a lot of stuff if you're not with everyone else most of the time.

Staying on campus beats commuting full-stop.

I'll be living on-campus next year, couldn't be doing with travelling even a short journey to lectures.. not a fan of public transport :P Especially if it's 9am in the morning or some similarly ungodly hour.

Going to a good Uni only 20 miles away > going to a good uni (or worse, a bad Uni) more than 20 miles away

Well I imagine it'll block your ports, which means no online gaming. However, they only block your ports if you have access to the Uni servers, so if your room's connection is independant of the Uni intranet you should be fine.
