I think you need to throw 6 boxes at Ryder, the best time is when the car is right behind the train and really near otherwise it's a complete pain trying to get the distance right :|

I'm on the mission called the Catalyst, it's the one where you have to get to the ammo train kill all the ballas, and thrown the ammo boxes into the car, how many do you have to get?

Yeah I did the mission with the hydraulic dance and then attempted the race (1st mission for Ceasar) ... as I said I rolled the car. Think it was the next day that I noticed the bloke stood there, he just pointed me to the car park behind him and didn't offer me a car ... hey ho no problem.

I'll go check out the stadium tonight :)

He should offer to sell you a car after you've completed the hydraulic dance mission.

Failing that, I usually find that if you hang around near the big Stadium (near Grove St.) you'll usually see load of them. Or try the area around that guy's modding Garage.
