Exactly my thinking, after i finally done the jump on the 4th attempt i couldnt help but feel it was just there to act as "padding". Having the majority of the last levels as the first ones backwards is a bit annoying too.

I hated those brown mutant things - seemed a bit of a tack-on.

"Oh, the game's finished, what now?",
"How about crappy brown mutants?",
"But it's a game about marines and aliens in space!",
"You don't work here anymore"

Levels 1 - 6 are pretty good.

The rest are average.

I'd give it an 8.

[edit]The Thing is another cuprit.

The later levels really let it down, but the first 5/6 are excellent.
