Predictions?

And as a Milan fan, I must admit that against Juve, Dida was out at the 6-yard line to save their penalties.
I've calmed down after last night, and I think Liverpool deserved it, just for knocking out Juventus along the way.
Failing that Owen Hargreaves would be my personal choice but then you have to decide who you sacrifice in midfield. Beckham on the right, Lamps on the left and then Gerrard with a free roaming role with Hargreaves behind him, Lamps in this setup would be sacrificed which would by unfair based on the cracking season he has had but in terms of both Gerrard and Lampard playing well on the day, for me Gerrard pips it and along with Rooney could be out key to the World Cup.
This brings back the whole "no left sided player blah blah blah" crap but you have to fit Lampard and Gerrard in there which means you need a holding player to get the best out of both which also means someone right footed will have to play on the left side.

I'm not criticising the substitution whatsoever - it was a genius one, a masterstroke, I must say. But I was shocked that he'd brought him on - he's not the kind of player you see as coming on and influencing the game at half time, is it? That's what I was a bit miffed about him coming on at half time. Thank god he did, though.
Looking roughly at the top few clubs shows this point well:
Gravesen - Ex-Everton. Arguably their best player. Certainly most influencial.
Vieira/Gilberto - World Cup winners the pair of them and foreign.
Alonso/Keyne- Foreigners and very good, but exceptions to their countries. Not English.
Makelele- French. Again world cup winner.
EDIT:
I refuse to change that typo.

I certainly agree with it in terms of the Smicer substitution - I would have brought Cisse on instead because we all know he's a threat.
In terms of the Hamann sub, it gave Gerrard the license to go forward in the way he only knows how to with the assurance that Hamann would be behind him to try and break up any counter attacks whereas in the first half it was all too defence and Alonso failed to get forward because he was too busy trying to stop Kaka et al which isn't playing to his strenghs since he's not that type of player.
The only problem is that England don't have a Makelele. We don't have anyone who can just sit there then absorb any pressure that's thrown toawrds them to relieve the defence. Yeah, Nicky Butt maybe. Maybe. But he's never been world class, has he? He's a fringe player for England, at most. We could always try a centre back there (as we have quite a few of those), and I could imagine Rio doing quite well in that role, but I don't think he'd be enough to get us a World Cup.
Still not convinved Rafa would've started the second half like that if it wan't for Finnan's injury.

It was indeed, in retrospect. But if you were looking for 3 goals in 45 minutes against an Italian team with Stam, Nesta and Maldini playing, Hamann wouldn't necessarily be the man who you'd bring on, would it? I though that Cisse would've started 2nd half... but I think that's because my mind only works directly. It's either attack or defence - I don't think of bringing on a defensive player to free up the attackers, for instance.

That was actually a shrewd substitution, Hamann should have been playing from the start then maybe Kaka wouldn't have got the amount of room that he did in the first half.
Gerrard reverted to a more advanced position, hence scoring the first goal rather than do the defensive job and allowing Alonso to go forward.
Kaka was rarely a threat in the second half due to this tactical change.
